Along with following Government Guidelines on how to protect ourselves during this Coronavirus pandemic, there are further things we can do to improve our immunity and help our bodies stay strong to deal with infection.
We don’t succumb to every infection we come into contact with. Our bodies are constantly working hard to protect us, but we need to play our part to support it. Healthy lifestyle choices are the key to allow your body to operate in health and healing mode instead of fight or flight (look up sympathetic dominance for more information).
Ways to improve your health and wellbeing:
- Exercise regularly
- Yoga
- Meditation
- Sleep for 7-8 hours a night
- Stop smoking
- Drink at least 1 litre of water a day
- Eat a balanced diet with plenty of vegetables
- Try to eat organic foods
- Take supplements such as Vitamins A, C & D and zinc
- Be a healthy weight
- Reduce your stress levels
